Blue Jacket Loop Trail is a 1.9 kilometer moderately trafficked loop trail located near North Bend, Ohio that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This trail features meadows of goldenrod and thistle, deep woods, and a scenic overlook (Shawnee Lookout). Named after the Chief Blue Jacket of the Shawnee Indians, this trail has a lovely blend of wood and meadow. In the summer, the goldenrod and thistle in the meadows draw monarch butterflies. Slippery elm, sugar maple, and other trees provide great colors in the fall. There are signs throughout the trail describing wildlife as well as benches to rest on in the scenic areas. Shawnee Overlook is about halfway through the trail, and the benches invite hikers to sit and appreciate the view of the Great Miami River and the hills of southwestern Indiana. About half of the trail is gravel and then on natural ground. This is a heavily-traveled trail, perfect for families with younger children.

The trailihead is located off of a parking lot where there is a picnic area. The trail is clearly marked and there is a brief history of the area nearby.
Great Trail. I saw Black Vultures, American Robins, Northern Cardinals, and Eastern Chipmunks.
Nice quiet. More elevation change than I anticipated.

A nice short trail! There are some steeper inclines though, so more challenging that the “easy” label suggests. Pretty scenery. I usually combine with the Little Turtle trail. I love this park bc everything is well maintained and clearly marked!
Very nice trail. Lots of pretty flowers. Very well shaded. Easy trail. Has some steps but nothing strenuous.

Well maintained trail. Mostly woods, but a lot of sun patches crossing fields under the power lines. Today there was no overlook. The brush/weeds had grown so tall I could not look out to see the view. Nice park, I will go back to try another trail.

It’s a ok trail. It’s a got great views and it feels peaceful but the only problem I got is the bugs are super bad. Every minute something was buzzing in my ear. I think there flies. I walked a lot of nature trails and this is one of the worst with bugs. So if you don’t care about bugs buzzing in your ear every minute than this is a good trail.
